Who we are

Harvard Removals operates harvardremovals.co.uk and provides removals services across the UK and into four European countries. We are the data controller for the information described here. Contact hello@harvardremovals.co.uk.

What the quote form collects

• Your name
• Your phone number
• Your email address
• The pickup address
• The drop-off address
• Your moving date, if you give one
• Anything you write in the notes field

We also receive standard technical information — IP address, browser type, pages visited — through analytics and anti-spam tooling.

Why we hold it

To answer your enquiry, survey and price the move, carry it out if you book, and keep records of completed work. The lawful bases are taking steps at your request before a contract, performing that contract, and our legitimate interest in running the business.

Surveys

Where a survey is carried out by video call, we use it to assess volume and access. Any recording or stills we keep are retained only as long as needed to prepare and support the quote, and are deleted afterwards. Tell us if you would prefer we take notes rather than images and we will work that way.

European moves

Removals leaving the UK require sharing information with third parties, and this is unavoidable if you want your belongings to cross a border. Depending on the destination that includes UK and overseas customs agents, ferry or tunnel operators, and delivery partners. What is shared is what customs requires: typically your name, both addresses, any identification or tax numbers you supplied, and the inventory.

Who else sees it

Our staff and the systems we use to manage enquiries and jobs. We do not sell your information and we do not pass it to unrelated companies for marketing.

Cookies and analytics

Google Analytics to understand how pages are used, and Google reCAPTCHA to keep automated submissions off the quote form. Both set their own cookies under Google's terms. Content pages carry no other third-party tracking.

How long we keep it

Enquiries that do not become bookings are kept while commercially useful and then deleted. Records of completed moves are kept as long as needed for accounting, insurance and legal purposes — longer for European consignments, where customs records must be retained.

Your rights

You may ask for a copy of what we hold, ask us to correct or delete it, object to our use of it, or ask us to restrict that use. Email hello@harvardremovals.co.uk. If you are unhappy with how we handle a request you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office.

Changes

If this policy changes materially we will update this page.
