Small jobs get treated as filler by a lot of firms — squeezed between the real work and rushed accordingly. We would rather quote them properly and turn up on time.
Not every move needs a lorry and a four-person crew. A room out of a shared house, a studio flat, a sofa bought second-hand, a desk that will not go in an estate car — those are a van, one or two of us, and an hour or three of carrying.
The mistake is treating them as trivial. A single heavy item down three flights with a turn is harder than half a bungalow, and a collection with a missed time slot wastes everybody's day.
What people book it for
- A studio or small one-bed flat, start to finish

The three questions that set the price
Which floor, at both ends. What the heaviest item is. And where the van can legally stand. Those three matter more than the distance between the addresses on nearly every small job, and they are the three most often left out of an enquiry.
If it is easier to show than describe, send four photos. It is faster than a paragraph and considerably more accurate — nobody estimates their own pile correctly.
What we will not pretend
That a man and van is right for a four-bedroom house. That we can take a grand piano down an external staircase with two people. Or that we can guarantee a slot at the end of the month in August without you having booked it.
Outgrown it? Flat removals or house removals. Going a long way with a small load? Long-distance removals — a part load on a consolidated run usually beats a small van doing three hundred miles each way.

One man or two?
Decided by the heaviest item and the stairs, not the box count. A desk and some bags is one person. A sofa bed off a third-floor landing is not, and sending one would waste your morning and ours.
Do you do student moves?
Regularly — halls to a shared house, house to house at the end of a tenancy, or home for the summer. Term starts and ends are the crush, so book earlier than feels necessary if your date is fixed.
Can you collect from a shop or seller?
Yes. Furniture retailers, trade counters, warehouse collections, marketplace pickups. If there is a collection window or a reference number, put it in the notes so the run is built around it rather than arriving outside their hours.
Is a part load cheaper than a van to yourself?
It can be, where another job is already going the same way. It depends on timing rather than on a fixed rule — ask and we will tell you honestly whether there is anything to share with.
When is it the wrong service?
Once you are past a small one-bed. Doing a house in van-loads costs more in hours than a proper removal does, and we will say so rather than take the booking and watch it drag into the evening.
