What people ask before booking.

We work nationwide rather than out of a single shopfront, and we would rather tell you that plainly than claim a high street we do not have. What matters for your move is whether we can crew and vehicle it properly on your date, and whether we have surveyed it honestly. Ask and we will tell you exactly where the crew is coming from.

Volume, distance and access. How much is going, how far it is travelling, and what the load-in and load-out actually involve — stairs, lifts, parking, how far the carry is. For anything past a small flat we survey first, usually by video. You get the figure in writing before you commit to anything.

Yes, and it is a large part of what we do. A move from one end of the country to the other is a different job from a local one — driving hours, loading order, and sometimes loading one day and unloading the next. We plan it that way from the outset instead of treating it as a local move with a long drive attached.

France, Spain, Italy and Portugal. That is the actual list, not a sample of it. We are not going to claim Australia, the USA or the Gulf to catch a search — if your move is outside those four countries we will say so and point you somewhere better.

Regularly. Offices, studios, surgeries, workshops and small retail units. Commercial moves run on the building's rules — access windows, goods lifts, insurance lodged with a managing agent — and on whether people can work the next morning. See commercial removals.

No. A single heavy item, one room out of a shared house, or a four-bedroom house with a loft and a garage are all work we do — they are just quoted differently. If a smaller firm would genuinely serve you better for a very small job, we will say so.

Whatever you want it to. Some people want the whole property packed; others do their own boxes and want us for furniture and driving. Most land in the middle — we do the kitchen, the glass and the pictures, you do the wardrobes and the books. Tell us which and we will quote it that way.

Yes. Chains slip and completion dates move, and containerised storage bridges the gap. Goods are inventoried in and out. Ask early so we can hold the space rather than scrambling for it.

Standard beds, wardrobes and table legs, yes — and the fixings stay with the piece rather than going into a communal bag nobody can identify at ten at night. Older or unusual furniture we look at first; some pieces are safer moved whole and wrapped than taken apart twice.

Uprights, with the right kit and enough people. Grand pianos, and anything that has to come down an external staircase or through a window, we assess first and will tell you honestly if it wants a piano specialist rather than a removals crew. We would rather lose the booking than damage an instrument.

Goods in transit and public liability cover are in place. The limits that apply to your move, including any per-item limit, are set out in the booking contract. Declare anything of exceptional value when you enquire so it is listed properly rather than assumed under a general limit.

Tell us as soon as you know. It happens constantly and we would much rather re-plan than lose the slot. Where we can, we shift the crew; where the chain has gone sideways entirely, storage bridges the gap.

Fuel, gas bottles, aerosols, paint, solvents and anything flammable. We do not handle asbestos in any form — that needs a licensed contractor. Cash, jewellery, deeds and passports should travel with you rather than on the vehicle. Moves into the EU carry extra restrictions on certain foods and plants, and we send the list before you pack.

Yes, and they are usually a man-and-van job rather than a full removal — a room out of halls or a shared house, often at short notice at the start or end of term. Priced as the small job it is.

Sooner than most people do. Month-ends and summer are the busiest periods everywhere in the trade, and long-distance and European moves need more lead time again because of scheduling at the far end. If your date is fixed, get in touch well ahead of it.

We can give you a sense of the shape of the job, but not a figure we would stand behind, and we would rather not pretend otherwise. Quotes that are guessed on a phone call are the ones that change on moving day. A survey takes twenty minutes and means the number holds.
